I’m Joanne, a Senior Product Designer🙂👋 I love solving the kinds of problems that don't have obvious answers
For the past 9+ years, I've worked in complex spaces: AI, cloud infrastructure, security, and enterprise platforms. I enjoy crafting simple experiences that help people make confident decisions in spaces that are technically complex, ambiguous, constantly evolving, and often invisible (until something goes wrong). I help bring clarity to ambiguity through strong systems thinking, product strategy, and cross-functional leadership.

Experience
Most recently, I led UX across Google Cloud's Trusted Infrastructure portfolio, defining product direction to design execution for data protection products, Cloud-wide encryption, Gemini-powered AI experiences, etc.
Previously at IBM Watson, I designed AI search, conversational AI, and NLP products that made advanced technology accessible to non-technical users. Before that, I worked on the digital small business team at PNC Bank designing our Cash Flow Insight product and 3 account opening experiences.
My education at Carnegie Mellon University, where I studied Decision Science & Human-Computer Interaction helps give me both a data-driven, and human-centered outlook on all my design decisions and how I communicate/ frame information.

Anything food related is fun to me 😋 Here, I made Korean rice wine (makgeolli)
Outside of work
I passed my WSET 1 wine certification and starting on level 2 soon!
I went to art school every Saturday growing up and learned painting. I still dabble from time to time
I enjoy creating paper goods.
